About

Hi, I'm Dawn!

If you're in a hurry, here is the down and dirty: I am a thirtyish wife, boy mom, printable junkie, DIY dreamer, organizing beginner and a pinterest addict. If you're nosey like me, keep scrolling.

I was born and raised in Richmond, VA. I met an amazing Marine named Brian in August of 2003 during, my 19th birthday. I like to say he was the best birthday present I ever received. He was an active duty Marine and stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. All of our relationship we were long distance and juggling deployments, training, and anything else the Marine Corps wanted him to do. We got hitched on October 3, 2005, three days after he came home from his second deployment to Iraq. We were not prepared for a wedding, our attire was not "correct" and pictures were on disposable camera's. But, I wouldn't change a thing because this is our story!

Yes, I wore brown pants to my own wedding. Don't judge me. I was 21 and getting hitched at the court house. I was so thankful my soon-to-be husband made it home safely that a nice outfit to say 'I do' in wasn't a priority at the time. Back then I wasn't a dress girl, so a dress never crossed my mind!

During the first five years of our marriage we moved seven times throughout four different states. In 2010 we moved to Indiana, my husbands home state, and purchased our first house in August of 2010. The name of this blog "Twenty63" represents the numbers nailed to our mailbox. The first mailbox we have been able to call our own, which makes us pretty darn excited.

I started this blog to document our life in Indiana for our family and friends scattered all around the United States and to keep track of our journey changing this house into our home. We are a real couple working on a real budget and we both have 40 hour a week jobs. Changes haven't happened as quickly as we would like, but it will get there one day.

In August of 2012, we found out we were expecting the biggest miracle of our life. We were graduating from a family of two to a family of three! After struggling with PCOS and infertility for seven years, we were expecting our first bundle of joy.

On April 15, 2013, we welcomed our son Weston into the world. From the moment I laid eyes on him, my life as I knew it, was completely changed.

We thought Weston was the biggest surprise of our life, but in August of 2015, we learned we were expecting our second biggest miracle. As you can see, August has steadily been life changing months for us! ;)

On March 25, 2016, we welcomed our second son, Lennox, into our completed family of four. He was almost a spitting image of his brother and the coolest little man around.

Since growing our family by two, and taking a small break from blogging, not much has happened around our house. We still have a million projects to do; however, a picture perfect clean house doesn't seem to be my top priority these days. If you stick around, I can promise you there will be random days, some DIY projects, yummy recipes, real life mommy stories, product reviews, free printables to help get our lives together and some all around awesomeness!

Thanks for visiting, I hope you stay a while!
